The revs build up when I'm riding and changing gear, but not when I test it on high tick over.
Why does my bike engine accelerate when I pull in clutch to change gear? Cables sorted.?
When you pull in the clutch you are taking the load off the engine, thus it revs up. This is the reason you back off the throttle when you pull in the clutch. I have no idea what a %26quot;High tick over%26quot; is.
Why does my bike engine accelerate when I pull in clutch to change gear? Cables sorted.?
When your clutch is out, your engine is attached to the road (via your wheels) slowing it down. It wants to rev faster, but is being held back.
When you pull your clutch in, it is no longer attached to the road, wheels or anything and so it is free to rev faster. Let go of your clutch again and is slows down again.
Try throttling back a little during changes to even out the revs. It will be much kinder on your bike over time and will lengthen the life of your clutch ;o)
If your throttle cable is stretched it may not be going back to idle and when your clutch is in, the sudden release of pressure when your clutch is disengaged it causes the rev up.~~
I assume you are a novice rider. When you pull the clutch in while you are riding along, the load is taken off the engine and so the speed of the engine will increase, this is normal. So when you pull the clutch in to change gear you have to ease the throttle down at the same time to prevent this. If you are stationery and pull the clutch in it will not make any effect as the engine is not under load through the gear train.
check your transmission clutches as per your workshop manual, seems a likely cause
Let off the gas and pull in clutch at the same time. You must be board shifting.
what does the low tick over test result show?

How much would it cost for a honest mechanic to change the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder?
1990 honda prelude
How much would it cost for a honest mechanic to change the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder?
Lots!! Hondas are not that easy to work on,especially that age.Plus the cost of parts!Maybe its time to find a better vehicle.Good luck.Realistically thinking slave cylinder 6 to 8 hrs at whatever your shops labour rate, master : 2 to 3 hrs.maybe less
How much would it cost for a honest mechanic to change the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder?
have you priced out the parts? couple of hours work tops,, that is about 150 bucks, if 75 dollars a hour labor,
2hrs labor plus parts

Er, Ford Mondeo question...anyone ever changed a clutch on one of these WITHOUT taking the engine out???
Seems like ford have made it a ridiculously tricky and time consuming job to drop the clutch and put a new in, anyone have any experience of this? Costs? Toptips? Cheers in advance!
Er, Ford Mondeo question...anyone ever changed a clutch on one of these WITHOUT taking the engine out???
was to big a job for me I had to get mine done in a garage, it cost just over 拢600.
the car was only worth 拢800 but unfortunatly I had it on HP so had no choice.

You must drop the complete subframe before the gearbox comes out. It's pretty straight forward once you get your head round it.
Get your ex to do it he must owe you one.
This apparently was one of the few draw backs on the Mondeo that you did have to drop the engine to do the clutch - ot at least so I was always led to believe.
No just drop the drive shaft and it will ease out and fix replacement in
your right it is tricky but alas engine and sub frame has to be (not completely) removed but lowered enough to separate g/box .... fords Hmm
Mr clutch does a good cheapish job
PS don't forget locating pins for sub frame
Any other way is extreemly arkward , dont try it unless you have access to lifting gear and a hoist you can drop one side and lift box out ,But it does put a strain on the exuast and other fixtures . (not recomended.) but that is as bad as dropping the whole sub frame
Going by experience of some mondeos I helped with the clutch whilst I was on work placement whilst at college studying motor vehicle engineering the quickest way t do a mondeo clutch is to take the exhaust off so it clears the sub frame, remove the lower suspension ball joints from the front hubs, remove the drive shafts support the engine from above remove the starter motor spedo cable clutch cable the upper bell housing bolts then under neath remove some engine/gearbox support brackets and remove the sub frame support the gearbox from underneath with a transmission jack remove the lower bell housing bolts and extract the gearbox and you can then remove the clutch refitting is reverse of removal

My fan is making a loud noise with each rotation. Do I just need to change the fan clutch?
I have a 76 chevy c20 truck with a 350. When I start up my truck the fan makes a loud noise almost like each blade is hitting something metal. The higher my rpms, the louder, and faster it makes that noise. I've checked and it's not hitting anything. Does this just mean that I need to replace the fan clutch or could the problem be somewhere else?
My fan is making a loud noise with each rotation. Do I just need to change the fan clutch?
check the water pump. Otherwise you may have more serious problems

If you have a flex fan you may not see it hit until it actually flexes then it hits. Could also be something else rotational and belt driven. Water pump? Alternator?

Anybody every changed a clutch on a mondao?
i heard you have to take out the enging is that true?
Anybody every changed a clutch on a mondao?
The engine has to be lifted to draw the gearbox mounting bolts which are fitted before the engine.
So in a nutshell, yes.
We source out jobs like this to garages that specialise in doing certain makes of car.
Anybody every changed a clutch on a mondao?
the car needs to be on a ramp. the hole engine and box has to be dropped down in a cage.before you can even start to strip the clutch out.one hell of anight mere job.
There is two ways of doing it, first remove the engine from the engine bay. Second method is to jack the car up, drop the front sub frame and then lower the engine and gear box out under the car.
Ja.
apparently not! according to my husband who deals with clutches 6 days a week ;)
No , there's a special frame that fit's between the inner wings to support the engine and box while the subfame is lowered to gain access to the gear box....
If you don't have access to a hoist or ramps then it may be easier to pull the engine. But no you don't have to. It Will be fiddly though and most shops will do the job at a reasonable cost.howtogetevenwithanex msdn

07 civic si rpms go up when i let of the clutch to change gears?
when im in 2nd or 3rd and want to go to the next gear, when i push the clutch in to change gears the rpms go up a little until the gears are changed. this only happens when i accelerate on the car faster than normal. is this normal..

Either your right foot is not getting off the gas fast enough (or maybe just not all the way off), or your injectors are still pumping fuel after you lift. This can be pretty hard on the clutch and gearbox, but it's pretty common - manufacturers do it deliberately to reduce emissions.
A way around it (sometimes - it takes practice) is to push gently on the gearshift in anticipation of the change. Then back off the gas and the shifter will pop into neutral once the load is removed from the gearbox - since there is no load, the engine must be slowing down at that time. THEN push on the clutch and complete the shift. I know this sounds kinda slow, but with practice, it can be pretty fast, as well as saving your synchro rings and clutch. And since the revs will match sooner, it can actually give you a faster shift once you're used to it.
Good luck!

you're clutch is slippen
hey steve, i had the same problem. you might want to be extra aware about your right foot... maybe heavy/slow to get off especially when shifting fast. you might also try moving your seat back a notch or so. this forces your foot/leg to go back more when shifting gears. hope you're having fun with your Si as much as I am.

How do I change the clutch cable on my motorcycle?
i have a 2005 kawasaki zx636.... my clutch cable suddenly snapped.... does anyone know why??? too tight??? how should it be?? and also is it easy to change it??? thanks
How do I change the clutch cable on my motorcycle?
Clutch cables break, it's a part of life. Not a big deal. Order a new clutch cable, disconnect the old, pull it out, pull the new one in, connect, adjust.
When I did mine I taped a cord to the old cable. Pulled the old cable out, used the cord to pull the new cable in. Didn't have to take anything off the bike.
How do I change the clutch cable on my motorcycle?
i remember something similar to that in a two wheel tuner mag. recently i dont remember what they said about tho. good luck on fixing it. sry i couldnt help. but if you get 2wt try checkin in there i think it was like 3 months ago maybe?
You probably haven't been doing your maintenance, you have to keep the cables lubed...
Changing the cable isn't a big deal, take the broken one off and put the new one on.....
clutch cable is easy to change but the adjustment needs to be right if you do not know how to do it find someone who does
