How much cost to change transmission and clutch?

Hi i was wondering if anybody knows how much it would cost to change a transmission and clutch in a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse gs? also i was wonderin if the company would have a tow truck to tow my car and would it be extra or if i let them do the job it would be free? pleasee help and let me know a rough estimateee thank you

It would depend if you wanted a new transmission or a used one. I would guess the following:



Clutch $150 to $200

Transmission $ 500 to $800 used

Transmission $1600 to $1800 new

Installation $400 to $500



So I would say the least is $1050 to go with a used trans and a decent new clutch.



And yes, most places charge towing in any case.

I dont know excatly how much but i estimate around 1,200 to 2,000.....and im pretty sure their gonna charge you for the towing...
Is the shop transmission rebuilder? Are they putting in a used or rebuilt tranny? Rebuild yours? 1500 - 2400
