Does one press the clutch other then changing gears?

i learning to drive and would like to ask i know that you have to pressing down the clutch when changing gears .

But does one have to press down the clutch when taking corners or at other times?

Thanks|||when your taking a corner, just touch the brake to slow down, then after you have made the corner, then give it gas. the only time you hit the clutch is when your coming to a complete stop and for changing gears.|||well.. as you said .. when you change gears. and of course when you start the car!|||You would press down the clutch and down shift BEFORE the turn; then again to up shift after you%26#039;re thru the turn. It%26#039;s not good to press down on the clutch, except when changing.|||No.

You will hear various things about when to change gears. The only time to change gears is when you need to. Meaning engine RPM%26#039;s are getting to low or too high.

So if you slow down too much to get around a corner, then yes, you need to press on the clutch to change the gears.

I personally like to take my foot off the gas and press on the clutch to minimize shock to the transmission when I go over railroad tracks at speed.|||you should not have to press the clutch when taking corners unless you slow down when doing so.also you need to put in when stoping %26amp; starting and when down shifting hope this help%26#039;s|||You only have to press the clutch pedal when changing up or down gearbox . If you ever have to stop the car quickly , ie an emergency , depress clutch at same time as putting on the brakes .DJC.
