Why would a Saturn SL1's coolant temp be stuck halfway even when cold after clutch change?

My 97 saturn SL1 just got the clutch repaired, runs so much better then ever before, however my coolant temp is stuck in the middle, even when cold, and my secondary cooling fan for long idles stays on while the engine is started, what could be the cause?|||Some engines use the coolant temp sensor for dual purposes. One being to send a signal to the computer to advise it on the temp of the engine and the other to control the gauge. It could be possible that this sensor has failed and now is giving a faulty resistance to which the engine computer will signal the fan to come on and/or send a faulty signal to the gauge.|||The wiring connector at the sensor may have been pulled loose while it was worked on.|||they could have pinched a wire when reinstalling the trans take it back and let them check it
