Do I need a special tool to change the clutch plates on a Honda CG125?

Or can i just do it with normal tools. Also is it a wet clutch?

I'll help make this much easier for you if you've never done it before.

Absolutely you need a tool to hold the basket in place as you torque it down.

Simple and free fix. Once you get the old clutch plates off you can line them up and drill several small screws through the plates to hold them together. Then you can run a couple of large bolts through the plates about an inch appart so you can hold them with large pliers. This will make a tool that can hold the basket in place while you torque the new parts down. You won't need any extra tools and this is much easier than it sounds.

I would call your local snap on dealer. Ask him for the honda wet clutch special tool. I recommend snap on they have a life time warranty
it is a wet multiplate clutch. If my memory serves me right as it was over 28 years ago I last did a clutch on a CG125 ( so things may have altered on recent models) the only special tool required was to undo the special castelated nut which held the clutch pack onto the shaft. However the last %26quot;Modern%26quot; Honda engine I did had 6 M10 bolts holding the pack together and the basket was held on by a malable iron hex nut.

So

Def wet

Def multiplate

can't answer on the specialist tool front.
