Is it the hydraulic or is it mechanical

If it is hydraulic bleed the system and checkfor fluid leaks

If mechanical the pressure plate could have been warped when it was fitted

sounds like a problem with the clutch itself. Did you do it or a shop? If a shop did, take it back to them. If you did, take it off and see if you can find the problem.
what year is your eclipse spider! and color!
To me it sounds like a couple problems. First thing I'd look at is the preasure plate. Doesn't sound like it's realising properly. Second, the clutch. Is the clutch slipping?
simple problem with a simple solution again, take it to a shop, have it replaced or buy a act clutch from ebay have them put it on for you pay $300 bucks VoILA! ull be shifting smoothly with no problems. peace!
try checking the master and slave cylinder of the clutch hydraulics. there maybe air in the line, try bleeding the system
