How hard is it to change a clutch in a 94 Mustang?

I have a 94 mustang, and the clutch is showing sings on going out. so I bought a new one. and decided to put it in myself. I bought the Repair Manual for my car. and it look like i could do it. but i just wanted a opinion on how hard or complicated it is for someone who has never done it before.

You at least need a good set of jack stands but doing it while laying on your back isn't real easy. It's much easier if you have a lift and a transmission jack. Since the transmission provides the engines rear support, and the transmission has to come out, you'll have to have a way to support the rear of the engine when you remove the transmission and bell housing. Don't just replace the clutch, also replace the throw out and pilot bearings or you'll be back in there in a short time doing it again. You'll also need a clutch alignment tool which can be purchased for a few bucks at any auto parts store. It isn't a terribly hard job but, you need the proper tools, stands, fixtures and knowledge.

Its not complicated, just difficult to do without putting the car up in the air (over your head). To replace the clutch, you need to remove the transmission bell housing. Its heavy and usually very difficult to get the top bolts in and out. Good luck!
It's a pretty big job. If you've never had a trans out before I suggest you bring along someone who has. There are quite a few safety concerns both during and after the repair.
