MK5 fiesta zetec 1.25 clutch release bearing?

I am going to change the release bearing soon on my fiesta.

I have changed clutch on a focus before but that is a cable clutch and my fiesta is hydraulic clutch.

So i want to know, if i take the release bearing out will the hydraulic fluid leak out?

If it does where do i full it back in?

the clutch slave cylinder is inside the bell housing on your zetec and has to be disconnected to remove the transmission. The bleed nipple is easily seen

Hi there as long as you disconnect slave cylinder from gear box before taking box out you will not have to do anything with fluid. there will be two or three bolts holding the slave cylinder on to gearbox. take them out and with some string hold the slave cylinder away from box while you are dismantling it it will be an easy job getting release bearing out. Remove the fluid pipe going to the slave cylinder and tie up out of the way.

When you remove the gearbox you will see the slave cylinder, complete with bearing, which is held in position with,i think, three bolts.

You will have to bleed the clutch hydraulics after refit.

You usually buy the clutch as a kit.

It would be worth fitting the complete kit as the box is removed.
No the fluid will be inside the slave cylinder and detatched from the gearbox
